My Review:

Talon by Ronie Kendig is packed full of adventure. This is a new genre and author for me, but I will be reading more by this author.  First up will be Trinity, book #1 in the A Breed Apart Series, which introduces the reader to the world of military war dogs. 

The suspense, romance and danger kept me reading long after I should have been asleep.  With the unforgettable characters of Cardinal, Aspen and the "star" of the book Talon, this is a book and series for men as well as women and sure the please both.  I give Talon a 5++ rating.

I have 8 more book reviews to post. I had lots of time to read while my back and "Marcelle" as I have dubbed my hemi-vertebrea has been giving me fit. If I did not have my spinal cord stimulator I would have made several trip to the ER already.  I have been swelling up also which I need to get checked out. Sitting at my computer seems to make it worse. I have been taking some Standard Process products the help, but lying down seems to be be the best cure. Melissa is worried and want me
to go to the real doctor.  I wish Dr. Boz could check it out as I can not find a GP who will take on a disabled back patient on Medicare. Well I have rambled enough. I am falling asleep sitting here.
Our out of town company wore me out, but we were so very happy to see them. Before I go here are the books I have read and have reviews for.

My Review:
Forsaken Dreams the first book in the Escape to Paradiese Series by MaryLu Tyndall is a book that has it all.  It gave me a look at the mindsets of the people from the north and south and how they related to one another after the war was over.  The families that were affected by the Civil War were not soon to forgive. Forsaken Dreams is a book that allows us to see God working in the characters lives as He causes them to be more forgiving of others. We plainly see that it is the internal character that matters and not the external. The book also gives us a look at the spiritual warfare that abounds on the ship and the strong faith of those who recognize it. I give Forsaken Dreams 5 out of 5 stars.

My Review:

Today's Shadow's by Becky Melby was a unique book that went back and forth in time to tell the story.  I was somewhat confused at the beginning, but as the story unfolded I was able to see that as

an important part of the overall story and how the past helped change the future. I loved all the discoveries Heather, Ryan and Izzy made in the mansion.  Ryan and Heather were very likable characters.  My favorite character was Izzy, because she was such an adventurous little girl who had me smiling throughout the book. I was pleasantly surprised at the ending as I did not see it coming. I enjoyed Today's Shadow's and plan to go back and read the other two books in the series.  I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

My review:
Goodbye To Yesterday,  part 1 of 6 in the Lancaster County Saga by Wanda Brunstetter looks to be
an good series. If your do not like for each of the separate books to leave you hanging on and needing the next one right away, this one is not for you. They do appear to be coming out one per month at Amazon. Part #1 is packed with story lines in just 63 short pages. I give this one a 3 out of 5 stars only because I felt that this should have at least wrapped up on of the story lines for the reader.

My Review:

'Til Grits Do Us Part is the third book in the Southern Fried Sushi Series by Jennifer Rogers Spinola.

This was the first book I have read by Jennifer and it will not be the last. This one made my smile, laugh out loud and at times want to cry with Shiloh the main character in the book. It can stand on its own, but I would suggest reading books #1 and #2 before this one. You get clues to the plot lines in book #1, Southern Fried Sushi and book #2 Sweet Potato Pie, but I found myself wanting to know the previous stories as well.

Shiloh is a big city girl who has been transplanted in a small town in Virginia, which adds a whole lot of fun to her adventures in 'Til Grits Do Us Part.  The "cow tipping" scene in the first chapter was so funny and took me back to when I fell in love and married a small town Virginia boy myself.  The characters are well developed and the mystery aspect of ‘Til Grits Do Us Part is brilliantly executed.  If you are looking for a mystery, love story,  and lots of quirky laugh out load moments then the Southern Fried Sushi series is for you.  I just bought the other two books and plan to read them soon.

My Review:
I was wonderfully surprised by A Mother's Promise by Anna Schmidt, which is  Book 3 of Women of Pinecraft series. I loved this book so much I plan to read the two previous books in the series, which are A Stranger's Gift (book #1) and A Sister's Forgiveness (book #2)

Having been a young widow myself,  I found it easy to identify with the feelings and mourning stages that Rachel went through.  I admired her for deciding to make a new life for herself and her son, Justin in Florida. It also took courage for her to go to college before she married in the Mennonite community that did not encourage their women to do so. She was a women with an incredibly sweet spirit, that drew most people to her.  It was wonderful to see how that same sweet spirit worked on others in the book who did not want to give her a chance. She touched many lives and they were all changed for the better.

Dr. Ben Booker is a man that I instantly liked. And his niece Sally is an strong young girl of 13, to be inspired by. Thank you Anna for a very enjoyable book.  I will recommend this book to my friends and give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

My Review:
The Prairie Dreams Series by Susan Page Davis was on my HAVE to read book list and when I received my review copy of Lady In The Making (Book #3), I started with the first two books in the series first. The first two books are: #1-The Lady's Maid and #2-Lady Anne's Quest.  The whole series
is fantastic and I read them all in three days.  Susan is now one of my favorite authors and I will be reading more of her books soon.

Lady In The Making is full of adventure, romance, mystery and a whole lot of fun. I loved Millie
and David's love story and how it showed the redeeming power of God.  You meet Millie in The Lady's Maid  as a character that is in need of a relationship with Jesus. It is so exciting to see her
character grow in faith in A Lady In The Making. Get ready for a fun-filled read and you will not be disappointed. I give this entire series a 5 out of 5 stars.

My Review:
I took the time to read the complete Husbands For Hire Series by Kelly Eileen Hake and am so glad I did. Strong and Stubborn is book #3 in the series and a very fun and entertaining book. The other
two books in this series are #1 Rugged & Relentless and #2 Tall, Dark, and Determined, which I have to say was my favorite of the three. I found myself laughing out loud at the characters in this series often and also feeling their pain. I give this book and the series a 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait to read more books by Kelly and I plan to buy this series for my teen grand daughters.
